My name is Greg Smith. I was born in South Africa and represented South Africa u19 at the World Cup in 2002 in New-Zealand. I left South Africa to pursue my cricket career in England in 2004 and played for Derbyshire County Cricket Club for 7 years. I then signed for Essex County Cricket Club in 2012 and I am currently still playing there. My passion is still very much to strive to play international cricket one day as all county cricketers should do. I have had an interesting journey throughout my career, having left my motherland when I was a youngster. I have played 12 years of first class cricket which I am very proud off and hope to play for a few more years to come! I enjoy helping out our younger players at Essex and can see myself potentially coaching one day. Hopefully there is still time to win done more trophies for Essex
